Free Concert to Raise Awareness on Sulfide Mining in Morris Presented by The Arrowhead Story

November 1, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join The Arrowhead Story, MPIRG Morris and Mission & Social Action Committee (of the Federated Church of Morris) as Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness present Duluth-based musician Mariah Bates and artist Melissa Weisser, along with speaker Ian Kimmer of Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness, in an event to raise awareness around the most critical conservation and economic decision of our generation for our state – the sulfide mining proposals in northern Minnesota. Mariah Bates will headline with a musical performance with live painting by Melissa Weisser. They will discuss the vision of Arts as Social Leadership as well as the sulfide mining proposals and their relationship to our water, landscape, culture and communities. From Lake Superior to the Boundary Waters and beyond we are deciding the future of our natural treasures right now. Come, be informed, make your decisions, lead for today and tomorrow. See you there!
