The Next Leap Forward: Passive Solar House Design for Minnesota

Housing Construction design will change fundamentally in the next decade as we come to understand the economic benefits of passive solar house design. The dream is to build a passive solar home in Montevideo and to teach how it is done. Come and learn what it will take to transition our construction industry to this next level. This presentation is sponsored in partnership with the Hill Grocery House Project that CURE is working on in collaboration with the City of Montevideo, ISD 129, Habitat for Humanity West Central Minnesota Affiliate, KOEH Properties and other area businesses.
CURE River Clean Up
Sunday, April 11, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m
Wegdahl, Minnesota
Mark your calendars, even though it may seem a long time away. The rivers will be too high to canoe, but hopefully it will be the perfect day to pick up trash visible in last year’s undergrowth in Montevideo,Wegdahl and Granite Falls. Teams will fan out from the central collection point at the Minnesota River Public Access in Wegdahl. Pick-up trucks and volunteers needed. Families Welcome! 18th Annual River & History Weekend

Lac qui Parle County Park
The 3rd weekend in May is the time to hit the Area Rivers. Over these 3 days, CURE will sponsor guided tours of the Chippewa, the Minnesota, the Lac qui Parle, Yellow Medicine, Hawk Creek and the Pomme de Terre. We will have our
headquarters this year at the Lac qui Parle County Park on the Lac qui Parle River. On Saturday evening May 15, we will have a History Talk about the area around the campfire. You are encouraged to camp out with us for a weekend on the water! Families Welcome!
