CURE will Celebrate Annual River History Weekend on National Get Outdoors Day

This year, CURE will celebrate our Annual River History Weekend on the 8th Annual Get Outdoors Day (GO Day) on Saturday, June 13. This will allow us to partner with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and join a national movement for outdoor fun.

In honor of GO Day, the DNR has set a goal of having every one of the Minnesota River’s 370 miles paddled by someone. To help our members contribute to that goal, CURE scheduled a paddle from Memorial Park, near Granite Falls, to the Upper Sioux Agency State Park.

We invite you to join other CURE members in covering this stretch of the river, but you can paddle any section of the Minnesota River and share your trip. The DNR will have a link on its website to report the location and distance of your paddle. Every Stroke Counts!

However, paddling is not the only way to Get Outdoors! Minnesota’s State Parks are planning a number of events throughout the state for June 13. You can visit the DNR Events Calendar for more information.

CURE is also planning other activities on GO Day, so stay connected to the CURE website and/or the CURE Events & Adventures Facebook page for additional information as it becomes available.

For more information, contact the CURE Events & Adventures coordinator, Peg Furshong.
