EVENT: Geocaching 101

Become part of the geo caching craze! Join us on August 8 at the visitor center as we offer a geocaching tutorial at the park. Participants will learn how to enter coordinates, set waypoints, and navigate using a GPS device. Participants will also search for geo caches hidden with in the park. A valid State Park Pass is required for admission to the Park.

Join us for an evening with Emily Marquez, Pesticide Action Network (PANNA) scientist, for a candid discussion regarding the "Kids on the Frontline" report. Rural children experience the same chemical exposures faced by children in communities across the country from pesticide residues on food and applications in schools, parks and home. This is going to be an amazing operation to relocate mussels back into the Minnesota River so that they do not die. The Army Corps of Engineers and the DNR are working to return the river to its original channel and there is a stretch that will be redirected and if we don't remove the mussels - they will die.
