Invasive Blitz Volunteer Training
June 8, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm$50
Be Part of the Solution – Invasive Blitz Training
CURE will partner with the Minnesota Master Naturalist program in hosting an Invasive Blitz Volunteer Training Workshop on Wednesday, June 8th. We will meet at the Upper Sioux Agency State Park headquarters building beginning at 3pm to wrap up by 9pm.
As you know, invasive species such as buckthorn, garlic mustard and wild parsnip pose serious threats to Minnesota’s natural resources, ecosystems and economy. We want YOU to join in a statewide effort to tackle the growing problem of invasive species.
This is a great opportunity to join us for a one-day workshop in which you will learn the impact of invasive species in Minnesota and be trained to identify and remove/treat selected problem species and provide follow-up management and monitoring.
Who should attend?
Anyone who wants to learn more about the natural world around them but this workshop is particularly geared as an Advanced Training opportunity for Master naturalists, Master Gardeners, Forest Pest First Detectors, Woodland Advisors, Tree Care Advisors, Shoreland Volunteers, School Forest volunteers, DNR Scientific & natural Area Site Stewards and others with knowledge of trees and plant identification who are willing to lead volunteer invasive species service projects.
Workshop registration fee is $50 (scholarships available), and includes extensive take-home materials and dinner.
Space is limited, so register right away! Go to www.MinnesotaMasterNaturalist.org and log on or create a User ID and Password. Click on Courses Available and then look for Advanced Training.
