Together we will address these topics:
- Healthcare is a basic need for Minnesotans. When some people are left without affordable, accessible care, it hurts our whole communities. If you’re struggling with healthcare, know that you aren’t alone; we can solve this crisis together. Explore with us what we can do that gives every Minnesotan access to care in a fair, responsible way.
- Unpack with your neighbors how healthcare costs are impacting people’s lives.
- Can we agree on the principles of what a high-quality healthcare system would look like?
- How do we get beyond this divisive political climate, have non-partisan conversations and build for a solution that improves healthcare for all of us? Your health status is neither red, blue nor independent. Can shared values be a link to cross our political divide? How do we talk about healthcare to our neighbors in a civil conversation?
- Hear a special presentation on a Minnesota Health Plan by Rose Roach, executive director of the Minnesota Nurses Association. She will present a proposal that has the intention of simplifying healthcare in Minnesota and making it accessible to everyone. This plan would do away with co-pays, deductibles and “in-network” and “out-of-network” red tape while protecting health care quality.
Co-sponsors for this meeting include: CURE’s Rural Democracy Project & Marshall Area Peace Seekers.
