You “Otter” Give To CURE on Nov. 12th, Give to the Max Day
November 12, 2015
Hello! I’m Otto the Otter. This year, I am helping CURE, my favorite environmental nonprofit organization, reach its fundraising goal of $5,000 for Give to the Max Day on Thursday, Nov. 12th. Since they began advocating on my behalf over 23 years ago, I have had a lot more fish and mussels to eat, but there’s still work to be done.
“I am an otter, and I want clean water and clean energy.”
Many times, CURE is the only rural voice in the room. Offering this perspective, CURE plays an important role in statewide campaigns to protect our natural legacy.
When rural representation was needed for the Clean Energy and Jobs Campaign, the Energy Program at CURE was there to provide a platform for rural voices to be heard at the state capital.
When Governor Mark Dayton announced his Buffer Initiative in January of this year, the Water Program at CURE was ready and quickly launched its Buffers Now Campaign.
This year, more than ever before, the Events and Adventures Program harnessed the power of partnerships. Through our collaborations with the Land Stewardship Project, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Chippewa River Watershed Project, and Minnesota Master Naturalists, CURE engaged more people with the landscape and their neighbors.
You are CURE’s most important source of funding. Consider making a donation to CURE on Thursday, Nov. 12th, Give to the Max Day, to help CURE help me.

P.S. Because the CURE staff believes in my goal to raise $5,000 on Give to the Max Day, they’ve decided to help me by providing a match of $2,500! So each dollar you donate will be doubled up to $5,000!
